Music Review: The late 60's early 70's are BACK!
Rating: 5 Stars
Excellent album overall. I put this in the CSN, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull category. If these guys keep up with this stuff they'll really be doing something.
It's rare nowadays to find any band putting out music that really showcases music, harmonies and vocals.
Tracks 1 & 5 are 3 stars, 2,3 & 4 are 5 star.
Description of Sun Giant EP
Seattle's Fleet Foxes make such complex, harmonic, 70s inspired folk-rock, it's hard to believe that the band's principle songwriter, Robin Pecknold, is only 21 years old. There's a moment on David Crosby's "Laughing" where Cros, Joni, and the whole gang hit a harmony that might be the most gorgeous moment in the history of recorded music. The Fleet Foxes know that moment and they go for it. This EP is a precursor to the band's debut, "Ragged Wood", out in June.General CDs
