Music Reviews of Original Broadway Cast Recording: FELA!Music Review: Stinkeroo Rating: 1 Stars
I suffered through this show one evening not long ago. Full of energy, movement, and lots of noise. It's unfocused, self important, and is so relentlessly noisy as to become one big fog of a show. If there is a story or characters in this show the creators want the audience to care about, they've layered it with so much phony spectacle as to make it moot. The design of the show doesn't help, as it, too, is noisy from a visual standpoint.
Music Review: A Blast Rating: 5 Stars
If you don't jump up and start dancing from the first track . . . then this is not for you. The whole album is excellent from start to finish . . . very well recorded. I saw the show and it keeps it alive
for me.
Music Review: Brings back positive memories of a great night on Broadway. Rating: 5 Stars
Fela! the play in my mind was a great combination of a story, dance, music, politics, history, and sexual energy. Go see the play and buy this CD for memories I read where Patti Labelle is now in the cast.
Music Review: Brilliant work. Rating: 5 Stars
EVERYBODY SAY YEAH! YEAH! WELCOME NA THE SHRINE.
You can't help but love the man Shah Ngauja and the entire Fela! crew. Absolutely brilliant.
