Music Review: Red Hot Salsa Album That's A Must For Any Collection!!

The Fania All-Stars were essentially Fania Records' premier group. Most if not all of them were the top artists for the label and of the New York Salsa scene of the 1970s and prior. The artists of this group consisted of Johnny Pacheco(who was one of the co-founders of the label), Willie Colon, Ray Baretto, Ruben Blades, Hector Lavoe and Celia Cruz, Eddie Palmieri & Tito Puente as special guests.
This album was the second of two volumes recorded at Yankee Stadium recorded in 1973. These 5 tracks are hot and these cats have chops to spare. Whether you download it,buy it new or used this will be among the most important albums in your record collection for years to come.
I highly recommend 'Bemba Colora'. The horns playing and percussions is just beautifully insane. But it all fits and sounds excellent.

The date Friday, August 23, 1973, is an historic one for Latin music. Fania All Stars poured 40,000 screaming fans into the Yankee Stadiumfor an unforgettable night of superb music. If Fania Records' super-band was already famous at the time (thanks to the famed Cheetah
concert and the movie Our Latin Thing) this is the concert that made them a legend. A spectacular show put on by a who's who of extraordinary players from the Fania roster including Johnny Pacheco, Ray Barretto, Willie Colon, Bobby Valentin and many more, all in their prime.
This album yielded the All Stars their first Grammy nomination. What's more, in 2004, the Library of Congress awarded the two albums the nomination of the 50 Most Important Albums of the 20th Century.
