Music Review: That voice!!

In this album, which is by Fairouz's son Ziad Rahbani, Fairuz sounds unbelievably great, as usual. This album has a whole new experience to offer. It is one of a kind throughout the Arab world and sure enough throughout the entire world. With ingenious musical arrangements, masterful jazz and oriental music fusion, and the greatest singer of all time, Fairouz, this album is the best of Fairouz's collaboration with the ingenious Ziad. Interestingly enough, Kifak Inta was not received well by some of Fairouz's fans for the reason that it departed dramatically from Fairouz's previous line of work. Today, and almost 20 years after this album was first released, Kifak Inta is one of the most beloved Arab songs of all time. A classic for the ages!

La vie de Fairouz est une aventure prodigieuse, depuis les premiers chants qu'elle fredonne en petite écolière jusqu'à son rôle de Phèdre du Liban, tragique et somptueuse quand son pays, longtemps surnommé la Suisse du Moyen-Orient, est ravagé par la guerre civile. Elle refuse pourtant de le quitter alors qu'on lui propose un exil doré à l'étranger. Issu d'un milieu pauvre d'un quartier modeste de Beyrouth, Fairouz est devenue le symbole identitaire d'un pays nouveau et où la musique reste le meilleur trait d'union, à l'exemple de Kifa Inta ("Comment vas-tu ?") qui lui ressemble tant.
