Hearing this it is impressive how Mozart managed to come up with such sweet music written for an instrument which he said he "could not bear". His distaste for the flute as a solo instrument is hardly apparent in the music. Great performance by Wincenc and the Emerson String Quartet, also helped by very detailed and clear DDD sound engineering work. Definitely a must-hear CD if you're shopping for Mozart's flute quartets.
