Etta James has made so many classic LP's since the late 50's and "Seven Year Itch" finds the soulful Diva once again in peak form, letting it rip giving ten thrilling & tremendous performances! Opening strong with an Otis Redding gem "I Got The Will (But I Can't Find My Way)", it is shocking this was not a huge hit as it has "hit sound" all the way through and for shame to the Grammy Foundation overlooking this classic that has a timeless and joyful sound...filled with incredibly great performances, music lovers don't let this one pass you buy...a keeper!!!

Description of Seven Year Itch
The three albums Etta James made for Island Records in the late 1980s are quirky productions, but this compilation culled from those recordings is a winning alternative. The beauty and righteous anger she evokes in "Damn Your Eyes" is alone worth the price. Her romantic side gets tapped for "A Lover Is Forever" and "Out of the Rain." But the best numbers flex her raw vocal muscle. "Beware," "Feel Like Breakin' Up Somebody's Home," and her redo of "Come to Mama" are all fire-breathing performances, worthy of the still-reigning queen of rhythm & blues. --Ted DrozdowskiGeneral CDs
