Music Review: Another fun Erasure production

My wife was about 6 months pregnant with our daughter for this tour and thus, was my daughter's first Erasure concert. Now she's a healthy, happy little baby girl who gets to relive her very first Erasure show.
The audio quality is excellent and if you enjoyed this tour, then listening to this album will bring back very good memories. I personally thought that some of the arrangements were weird the first time I heard them at the show, but I thought they were fun nonetheless. As odd as it may be for some to hear Erasure acoustically, it's certainly not the first time that most Erasure fans have heard them acoustically, having done limited acoustic recordings in the past. Besides, I would be perfectly content listening to Andy sing in the shower or accompanied by a buzz saw and jack hammer.
As in the San Francisco show, Andy's voice is dead on for his performance in Nashville. He sounds great and the backup singers don't overwhelm Andy's voice. The show and this CD/DVD was worth it just to hear Andy sing Alien, How Many Times?, Spiralling, and Piano Song live. My daughter seems to prefer Victim of Love :)
The first disc is the audio CD and the second disc is the DVD that has the entire show plus a few bonus songs and a short film. This release is definitely a good value considering it includes the full CD and DVD for the price of just the CD.

ON THE ROAD TO NASHVILLE is a CD+DVD recorded live from Erasure's `Union Street Acoustic Tour' on May 6 2006 in Nashville, Tennesse at the Ryman Auditorium (once home of the infamous Grand Ole Opry with a stage that once hosted a teenage Elvis Presley). Features never before seen audio & video of reworked hits and live favourites such as "Oh L'Amour", "Love To Hate You", "Stop!", "Victim of Love" and "Sometimes".
