Music Review: Best treatment of the Crusades since David Munrow

In 1972 the legendary Early Music Consort of London, headed by David Munrow, recorded an album treating the music of the Crusades. This album is generaly acclaimed as one of the best works ever of its kind. Ensemble Renaissance's CD "Journey to Jerusalem" is at that same professional level, which is high praise indeed. In fact, in my oppinion, the dances are even more rustic, while the ballads and songs are charged with emotion and spirituality. For early music afficionados this is a must.
