IN EXCELLENT VOICE. IN FACT, HIS VOICE SEEMED TO HAVE MORE RANGE WHILE HIS HEALTH WAS GETTING IL. COULD HAVE BEEN AN OPERA SINGER IF HE SET HIS MIND TO IT.
UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE UP YOUR MIND THAT YOU ARE DEFINITELY AN ELVIS 70'S MUSIC FAN, THIS IS NOT THE BEST PLACE TO BEGIN YOUR COLLECTION. I WOULD START FROM THE 50'S AND WORK YOUR WAY CHRONOLOGICALLY TOWARD THE 70'S. GET TO KNOW ELVIS, BEGINNING WITH THE SUN SESSIONS, THEN WORK YOUR WAY TO 1977.
FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT OBJECT TO TAMPERING WITH ELVIS INSTRUMENTATION, THERE ARE 4 ELVIS REMIXES WORTH OWNING: GUITAR MAN FROM 1980; A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION FROM THE 90'S OR 2000; AND RUBBER NECKING ALSO FROM 2000 OR SO. THE MOST RECENT IS BABY LET'S PLAY HOUSE (DANCE REMIX BY SPANKOX).
ALTHOUGH SPANKOX REMIXED A LOT OF HIGH PROFILE HITS FROM THE 50'S FOR ELVIS, YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITH THE ORIGINALS. I SEE MINIMAL DIFFERENCE AND I OBJECT TO REMIXES WELL KNOWN STANDARDS SUCH AS HOUND DOG, DON'T BE CRUEL ETC. THE LESSER KNOWN SONGS SEEM TO DO BETTER.
