Music Review: A good album

I think this is actually one of the better studio albums from Elvis' latter years. It was released a little over a year before he died and has some really nice performances on it. The album only made it to 41 on the US album chart, but it went all the way to number 1 on the US country album chart. The single "Hurt" was a top 30 hit in the US (top 10 on the Country and AC charts) and proved that Elvis still had a powerful voice in 1976 when it was recorded. "For The Heart" was a minor country hit that probably would have been a bigger hit had it not been released as the B-side of "Hurt". I really like his performance of "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain". Instead of just trying to mimick Willie Nelson's country version, Elvis does it as an R&B song and it really works well. I like it better than Nelson's version!
While this is a good album, I would recommend that you pass on it. All the songs on this album have been included on the latest release of Moody Blue, so you would be better off buying Moody Blue instead.
