Music Review: Greatest Children's Music in the history of the universe

Kids' music is so often annoying, grating. This is a folk music record (not merely children's music) that is cherished in our collection, that we keep coming back to, again and again. It is a pleasure to listen to, and it has given my wife and I a small library of touchstone songs to sing to our baby whenever she feels upset or is difficult to quiet down.

The record uses the simplest formula -- beautiful melodies, simple instrumentation (acoustic guitar, occasional flute, piano and sleighbells), and subtle harmonies. If you buy this record you will add a whole new layer of music appreciation to your family's life.

A minor quibble about the packaging -- I wish the songs were credited in a better way. I am curious about some of the authors. For example, I know that Woody Guthrie wrote at least one of the songs, but I'm not sure about the others.
