Music Review: Great Dvorak!

I've had Dvorak's 9th Symphony on CD since 1991 (with the Cleveland Orchestra directed by George Szell), but it never quite convinced me! I had been looking for a good version to replace it, and now I've finally found the ideal one: Istvan Kertesz's reading of Dvorak's 9th is quite delightful!

It is quite a bargain too, for it includes great versions of Dvorak's 5th, 7th and 8th Symphonies! I already have the 7th and 8th with Previn and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and what a boring version that is! Listening to Kertesz's reading of the 7th and 8th has shown me just how beautiful these Symphonies really are! This has been quite a discovery!

Finally, I'm new to Dvorak's 5th Symphony, and the only thing that I can say is that I'm enjoying it a lot! This is such a beautiful Symphony!

I'm really happy that I bought this great bargain! If you're looking for some fine Dvorak, look no further, this is a great album!
