Music Review: Exactly what I expected!

The Dropkick Murphys produced a great item in Blackout and continued down the same path with the new album. If you liked Blackout this album is perfect.
1. Your Spirit's Alive
Faster than I expected. A beautiful intro with piano and pipes, quickens almost immiediatly. Nice lyrics, a very good song for an in memory of. Al has a "Gang's all here" sound. Kenny shows a lot of emotion. Catchy.
2.The Warrior's Code
Reminds me a little of the Fields Of Athenry at the beginning. Starts "You're a fighter!" and the tone lingers throughout the entire song. perseverence and strength are shown confidentally in Al's voice. Loud and fast - what more can you ask?
3.Captain Kelly's Kitchen
Fast tempoed song that makes you wanna get up and jig - or try at least. Another great trad. arrangment by the DKM. The chorus goes "With me toora loora la, me toora loora laddie/Me toora loora la and me toora loora laddie" you can guess how this song sounds.
4.The Walking Dead
A more punk sounding song that gets a little further from the trad. sound. Faster, Al sings with a lot of energy. A fight song - maybe a filler, but a really nice song.
5.Sunshine Highway
Very catchy! I was singing along with it the first time I heard it. Fast chorus, about having fun and starting trouble. Nice Accordian in it. Great combination of drums, guitar, and, especially, bass. Makes you happy, bouncy, nice feel.
6.Wicked Sensitive Crew
Hilarious song! A song that defends a touchy, feely crew saying, "I ain't ashamed I cried when Mickey died in Rocky II" with a note at the bottom of the jacket that says, "Mickey actually died in Rocky 3 but, hey, sue us two rhymed better." Song makes you wanna sing along with the nice "hey! ho!". Reminds me of Good Rats
7.The Burden
Great acoustic! Country sound but in a good way - not the terrible country voice. Al's voice sounds VERY good in this song. A beautifully sculpted song full of hope.
8.Citizen C.I.A.
The fast, loud, hard song on the cd. A song that makes me wanna headbang. Sort of like Pipebomb On Lansdowne except without the bombs and with the C.I.A. instead.
9.The Green Fields Of France
I can't even begin to cover this song. Al sounds AMAZING in this slow ballad. he is joined by the piano and, in the chorus, marching drum & pipes. Mandolin and viola makes an appearance, quietly. A BEAUTIFUL song that makes you stop for a moment. Makes me want to close my eyes and just listen.
10.Take It and Run
Not too hard after the very slow and calm track before. Wakes you up from the solitude of the song before. Al returns to his more punk, raspy voice and Kenny returns to the mix. What you would expect from the DKM. Possibly another filler that gives you a chance to return from the breath-taking Green Fields Of France. Nice song with good chorus that's catchy.
11.I'm Shipping Up To Boston
A disappointment after hearing the previous version on Give 'Em The Boot. This one sounds too slow. The tin whistle from the original one is replaced with the accordian. May have been another great song had the other one not been released. Still classic irreplaceable mandolin. Not loud enough - too traditional. Not as much energy as the other one.
12.The Auld Triangle
Slow piano and tin whistle intro that reminds me of Titanic. Quickens pace and gets louder with Ken's beginning. A nice classic sounding song that will be a favorite I'm sure. "Jingle jangle" is in the chorus which makes you feel good. Not a filler, more like the Fields Of Athenry of the cd.
13.Last Letter Home
Good intro, music quickens when the lyrics begin. Nice and loud, quick. A good song in all, though slightly forgetable, not outstanding.
14.Tessie (bonus track)
The classic Tessie. A great song - especially for us Sox fans! An intro using Joe Castiglione's call, which was a great addition. 'Nuf said McGreevey, right?

Since 1997, Boston's Dropkicks have released six albums, each bettering the last in sales.
