I've meditated to quite a few of Dr. Thompson's CD's and when they work they work well. When they don't work, you notice it quickly. This one is easy to meditate to and the music is fine. I have another (Gamma meditation) where it is easy to meditate and the music is weird. Very weird.
I notice that Amazon sells some of these CD's in mp3 format as a download. According to Dr. Thompson, the music contains binaural beats. The frequencies used to create these effects are not captured in the mp3 format.
I've accidentally recorded these CD's as mp3 (oops, wrong settings on the iPod!) and the music DOES NOT WORK. Do not buy this as an mp3, stick with the old-fashioned technology and buy the CD's. And when you move it to your iPod, use the lossless format.
