Music Review: One of THE BEST purchases for my daughter!!

I received this CD (after ordering it) a few days before my daughter turned 4 months. I had seen the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and it definitely helped us learn how to sooth our daughter. I can't remember how I found out about this cd, but after I did, I read lots of the reviews on Amazon and also on Harvey Karp's (The Happiest Baby on the Block guy) website. Most were very good, and they were right! My daughter usually sleeps on my chest for sleeping at night. During the day, she usually sleeps in her swing. She HATES her crib. The first night we got the CD, we tried it out and I used track #4 (without even listening to the other tracks) which is the blowdryer because she likes the sound of the actual blowdryer, so I figured she would like this too. Thankfully we have a cd player that has a repeat option and you can repeat the entire cd or just 1 track. So I stuck her in her swing to sleep for the night and turned it on the blowdryer sound on repeat and she slept for 6 hours. It did get quite annoying for me, but seemed to work for her. Also, even on repeat, when the track stops, the silence is deafening for a moment and then BAM!! blowdrying again, which is enough to wake the baby each time it goes to repeat! The next day I took a listen to all of the tracks and I like all 4 of the other tracks much better. THE BEST track of all is #5, RAIN! I put it on repeat, and the transition from stopping and starting the track again is really good on this track. I don't know about the others b/c now I only use the rain. I put it on quite loud and it still isn't annoying. Once she is asleep, I can pretty much do anything around the house and the noises are blocked or muffled by the CD so they don't wake her. IT IS SO GREAT!!! If she is fussy, I just give her her pacifier, wrap her in a blankie, turn on the rain and walk her around til' she calms and falls asleep... Seriously, I can't say enough about this CD. SOOOOO WORTH IT!!!! Also, my husband and I think it's funny when I ask him to turn off the rain... It also helps in the car!
