Music Review: Donna will get your love with her hottest dance track in years

After making some different pop albums (everything from the brilliant new wave "The Wanderer" to the amusing cookie cutter SAW pop effort "Another Place And Time") in the eighties, Donna almost fully returned to making exclusively dance singles (after a nearly full on New Jack album, "Mistaken Identity", failed to make any impact on the charts despite strong material). The return to the clubs gave us some great tracks ranging from "Carry On" in 1992 to "You're So Beautiful" in 2003. Right after the eventual release of "Beautiful", a song that was leaked from her Sony sessions, Donna decided to let another winner out of the vault from the album that was rumored to be called "Angel", which was never released (but really should have been!).
"I Got Your Love" stands as her most impressive dance pop song of this time in between albums. It's slinky and filled with strong beats. Donna's voice soars and she hasn't sounded this hot and bothered since maybe "Love To Love You, Baby"! It's not just a dumb dance song with one groove but it sways as do Donna's vocals.
Lately, I haven't been a fan of remixes as they often destroy and or bury the original, but these producers got it right and add great layers to the original. They obviously like the track and do not try to just fill up a bunch of clunky dance beats over it and Donna's vocals. If you love great dance pop and Donna Summer, get this maxi single and ignore the fact that it's over a dollar a track. It's worth it. If not, the original mix is worth buying on it's own.
