Music Review: Love Robin Macy - an original Dixie Chick!

When the Dixie Chicks first got started in the Dallas area, Robin Macy was one of their members. Her voice is very distinctive and one of the reasons I first enjoyed the music of the Dixie Chicks. After Robin left and the Dixie Chicks changed their course, I felt their music was never quite the same. I was thrilled when Robin got together with Sara Hickman and Patty Lege to form The Domestic Science Club - Robin's unique voice and Sara's wonderful songwriting were a great combination. I was even fortunate enough to hear them perform several songs live and have them autograph my CD. Alas, it was only to last for 2 CDs but they remain some of my favorites many years later. If you like this CD, consider the other Domestic Science Club CD along with early Dixie Chicks CDs like Little Ol' Cowgirl, and Thank Heavens for Dale Evans - just remember these CDs hark back to a much different (and IMO better) sound for the Chicks so they aren't going to sound like the Dixie Chicks of today.
