Music Review: "An Underrated Dolly CD"

Dolly Parton released "For God and Country" in November, 2003 and is regarded as her dedication to those who lost their lives in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The CD was received lightly by fans and critics alike, as the album only went as far as #23 country and #167 pop on Billboard. Nevertheless, "For God and Country" is a much better-than-average Dolly album that all should have in their music collections. The CD features 18 tracks, including many cover songs like "God Bless The U.S.A.", "Star Spangled Banner", and "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". Dolly also rerecords, for the third time, her classic "Light of a Clear Blue Morning". One of the best tracks is her self-penned "Color Me America".
"For God and Country" is really two albums in one, in which Dolly does both spiritual and patriotic songs. After listening to this beautiful CD, one realizes how much Dolly loves her God and her country.
The CD features one of the best Dolly album covers, with her posing as a World War 2 USO covergirl. Everything from the pumps, to the outfit, and the wig is true Dolly.
