I HEARD A COUPLE OF CUTS FROM THIS CD ON THE RADIO LAST WEEK AND HAD TO GO RIGHT OUT AND GET A COPY FOR MYSELF. IF YOU LIKE HOT JAZZ, GYPSY SWING, OR THE MUSIC OF DJANGO REINHARDT, THEN THIS CD IS A MUST HAVE FOR YOU AS WELL. WONDERFUL GUITARS AND ACCOMPANIMENT, GREAT AND TRULY TALENTED MUSICIANS REALLY DO JUSTICE TO DJANGO'S MUSIC, WHICH IS TIMELESS AND JUST AS FRESH TODAY AS WHEN THESE SONGS WERE ORIGINALLY RECRODED BY DJANGO REINHARDT. A delightful disc for the casual jazz fan as well as the connoisseur. Gypsy swing never sounded so good. I heard the Schmitt band in, of all places, Bozeman, Montana last year: one of the tightest, rhythmically pure outfits to ever transfix an audience. And the verve comes through on this recording, made at New York City concerts in 2000 and 2002. If you appreciate driving rhythm guitar, inspired lead guitar, brilliant accordian and luminous gypsy violin, buy this CD.Music Review: Almost as good as live

I'd seen Dorado and his brother in San Francisco in 2007. The whole band was incredible and prompted me to find the album for their tour. The closest I found was this one. It's quite lively and driven, although not quite the same virtuoso feel as what we saw. Maybe just the fact that we're not sitting in front of the musicians. Overall, an exellent album well worthy of the genius of Django.Music Review: Gypsy Jazz

Sharp, crisp tunes and a vivacious jazz accordion. Uptempo and punchy for the most part and toe tappingly enlivening. Very cool.
