Dalton Higgins is the man who dissed this album in his review(which is on this site and many other AMG affiliated sites), by sayin "its good not great" and other remarks he made:read it for yourselves but after you listen to the album . Sounds like he just skims thru music and probably thinks "This Way" is the only good joint on the album, I've been a Dilated fan since I heard Ev on Defari's "Focused Daily" and High N Mighty's "Top Prospects" featuring Defari also spittin flames on the track. I even got my younger brother, a die hard "Gangster Rap" fan to love this album along with all there previous works."Marathon" comes off soundin like an updated "Eric B is President"(which is dope)layed over top an Alchemist beat with a sample from Kurtis Blow's "Christmas Rappin'", "Marathon" just starts the album off so hard youll want to replay it instead of going onto the next track. "Neighborhood Watch" is another tight joint featurin another Flamin hot Alchemist Beat."Tryin To Breath"(produced by REEF{50 Cent,Fat Joe,Artifacts,High N Mighty,etc.}) which features a sample you probably heard on Beabie Sigels'"The Reason" LP, this joint is slammin it'll definitely have you ready to rewind it cuz its that tight!"Caffiene is an Evidence joint that'll definitely let you know Dalton Higgins is a damn fool for his "Ev hasnt stepped up his game" remark and lets you know for yourself that Ev has stepped his game up; remember Ev nor Rakaa have ever said they were the greatest unlike other popular MC's who got no skill at all just sales n spins(i.e. Nelly's "#1") another slammin track is "Poisonous" featurin Devin the Dude and another hot beat from The Alchemist some of you might have even heard this beat on a Vanilla Coke commercial with Chaz Palmintieri aka Sonny from a Bronx Tale and the Alchemist himself, this joint goes onto describe the dangers of messin with scandalous women who always try to get over."Reach Us" produced by newcomer Nucleus(check Defari's "Diamonds in da Rough" off ODDS N EVENS LP) this joint is slammin not to mention catchy as a mutha. Every track on this album is above average, lyrically, and musically, each track is definitely rewind type stuff except for "1580"(skit) but if you skip it ,it kinda interrupts the flow of the album. Definitely check the posse cut "Closed Session" featuring Defari,Phil Da Agony, and Planet Asia, with a tight beat courtesy of Babu. "World On Wheels' a dedication to the Midcity LA roller disco by the same name which fetures yet another slammin Alchemist soundscape."Love and War" and "Big Business" are also hot 2 def and if your a DJ afficionado like myself(im also a DJ)check the "DJ Premier's in Deep Concentration" remake entitled "DJ Babu's in...". If youi ask me this album is bangin a definite 4.5 stars and on my own opinion "This Way" is hot but definitely not the tightest track on the album.With no filler "make me wanna skip" material. "Neighborhood Watch" is definitely worth the $ not to mention the 3 years it took to come out. If your an underground head or just a hiphop junkie this album is defintely for you all you Nelly and Murphy Lee D@#k riders cop it and see for yourself what real hiphop albums should be like. If your 1st timer cop the whole Dilated Catalog and any other joint they've guest rhymed ,produced,or Executive Produced. And definitely get all the ABB Records 12" by Dilated and if you still jonsin look for the limited as hell Alchemist and ALC Records presents: Dilated Peoples"Heavy Surveilance" volume 1 mixtape(ALCrecords.com or peep eBay its definitely worth lookin 4). Peace Out, Gbo( a Dilated Junkie)...I Rolls wit that fo sho logo the open eye... "Stay beyond hungry and thirsty(DILATED) we damn near starvin and we dehydrated"...Rakaa Iriscience from "Trade Money" off 2001's "Expansion Team".
