This album gathers many great Jazz standards in French, well,actually, there are a lot are original French songs or was song in French before they were song in English Blossom Dearie contributes a lot to this album, simply becasue her career was started in France, singing Jazz in French. Samething happens to Dee Dee Bridgewater and Nina Simone, who had relocated themself in Paris for quite a long time.

This is a CD worth to have if you want the feeling of "French" and "Jazz" combine together, and the music are good, in deed.

By the way, you will not want to miss Dutch singeress Laura Fygi's version of "Les Feuilles Mortes" (the very orignial verison of Autumn Leaves"). Her smoky sultry voice gave this famous French Chanson a new Jazzy look. I am so glad and proud that I had interviewed her personally when I was a DJ in the radio.
