Music Review: Futurism?

With a bit of skepticism, I bought this album, partially on the basis of some of the reviews here. I thought, well...Tenaglia came out with that God Awful "Choice" album while he soul searched for the spark that kicked off his passion in the first place, at least that's what I assume. Not sure as to why he would drag us into that "mystical voyage" into the truly dark days of house music. But nevertheless, I road tested the album. That is to say, I put it into my car right after buying it and drove home.
At first I thought, through the first three tracks, hey, maybe we have something here. Then? It goes flat with little more than the annoying disco shrieks and sound effects that mock your sense for good music.
Futurism? Hardly. There is nothing classic here, no exapansion to the great dancehall euphoria of early Tenaglia albums. If by Futurism Tenaglia means to say that he is defining a path forward with this album, my point of reference is those old black and white films from the 50's showcasing cars of the future. Ridiculous. Is Tenaglia saying the future of this genre is mostly slow-tempo techno? No thanks.
There are a few tracks worth listening to on the second CD, mostly towards the end, but hardly groundbreaking. I'm sorry to say that a long overdue record from Tenaglia disappoints.
