This is a lot of fun. It's loose and maybe a little thrown together, but it's musically satisfying and Dan's sardonic take on sentimentality is more welcome than ever during the holidays. "Carol of the Bells" is so cool, I almost wish the sped-up chimpmunk voices weren't on it, but even that is growing on me. A little swing, a little jazz, a little Dan Hicks fun for the holidays. Class entertainment all the way, ladies and gentlemen.
