Turntablism. Who could of thought. Honestly, thinking back to the whole Blondie "rapture" Hip-hop beginnings, to the chunky bass, and repetitive snares present, there have been many changes made as far as hip-hop, and how the art of Skratching and DJing coincides. Right now, as we peak into the millennium, and chew on the apocalypse, Skratching on records seems to be done by just about every teen who has the nerve to wreck their parents precious record collection, and home stereo. Few make it into the foray of "popular" though. Opps, I lied. One of the most popular "SKRATCH" djs (Funkmaster Flex,Tony Touch, and DJ Clue don't count, too commercial) Dj Qbert is definitely playing a major role in the both the art and development of Skratching, and also a defining role in making it more widely accepted and understood. The album is at the pinnacle of revolutionizing the very art of the element of DJing. Where this album, as far as soundscapes and professionalism, this man is speaking with his hands. This record more than speaks. You envision, transpose and multiple listens and soon discover protoplasm on your inner core. Kind of like licking on a lollipop in reverse. It should also be known to all fans of turntablism, that a 5 part series entitled Shiggar Fraggar is also a must have for any hardcore fan. It features DJ's Q bert, Shortkut, Disk, the mysterious Shiggar Fraggar and various others, Skratching and cutting at it's rawest and purest form. All recorded live, with various ad-libs from the djs. If you can find it I suggest getting it. I can't believe Amazon is selling this CLASSIC, PERFECT ALBUM for only (dollar amount), my dumb(self) got it for (...) dollars, and it took me almost 3 months to finally find it. Not complaining at all, WORTH EVERY PENNY.
