i cannot go on enough on how great this CD is. cyndi lauper sounds great, the band is top notch, as well asthe song choices. now this is some serious, bluesy, music. the minute i put the CD in i knew it---this is
gonna deliever. very mature, soulful, with a all star backing band. she should be proud because she did this
right! great to have a fresh sound from a classic artists. i love this!

I never thought I'd like any thing from Cyndi Lauper, but this album is REALLY GOOD! In the past I haven't been interested in her music, but who knew she could come up with such a great blues album! Her voice masterfully channels these songs, she sounds passionate, and soulful. I didnt know she had it in her, but this album has changed my mind. Here she truely sounds like the "Memphis blues".Music Review: Never heard Cyndi give so much feeling

Love this cd - first time listening wasn't so sure, but in listening 2nd time, decided it just takes a bit more time to get over her voice which is a little high pitched for the blues. Now I love it, I've never before heard her put so much feeling into any song as she does each and every on on this cd. She has truly found her nitch with the blues on this cd. Great musicians accompany her.Music Review: Freakin' good !

I have to admit I didn't really care for Cyndi Lauper's previous albums. I now admit that she's a tremendous singer. She's not faking when she sings the blues. All the musicians on this record are brilliant, from Allen Toussaint to Jonny Lang (Lang is simply amazing as a young musician). This album is a must have. I was a little hesitant about this direction into the blues for Cyndy but she has really nailed it!!! What a fantastic sound. This CD has been constantly played since we got it. Some great collaboration on here. You really need to have a listen to this and I am sure you will add it to your music collection. Well done!!!! Do yourself a favour, you won't regret it.
