Music Review: What's Creepy?

If you're thinking old theater organ, forget it. This organ is very bright and has no rumbling bass, no interesting drawbars, and no significant tremolo except at the very end of one piece. It's just a CD of organ music in the classical style, short on disturbing dissonance and half steps. The Tocatta especially sounds anemic without a strong lower register. Number 6 is the Moonlight Sonata. Number 12 is just an inexplicable mix of animal noises tacked onto the end, probably to justify the title. Sure the organist is talented and the track names are evocative of the holiday; but done in such a spritely style, it has a light-hearted, spring atmosphere! You're better off getting a classical album that actually has liner notes.
