Music Review: Solid - Thick - Chunky - Groove

Scored this Lp a good decade back, but had to throw a review up, as the least i could do was type a quick review on it, to praise the dudes who slapped it together. Spewin' Reed M. aint behind the kit no more for these dudes, but none the less Pepper Keenan & Woodrow W. pull out all the stops on guitar, with great support from Mike D. on bass. Songs like Albatross, & Shake Like You are instant winners with catch hooks that tune you in to the end of each track. To my surprise were the quiet little interlude tracks, (this trait does appear in the sonic works of the supergroup Down also), so i would have to tip my hat to Pepper for these efforts. A must listen before your time comes to an end on this planet.
Description of Deliverance
Deliverance evokes the sounds of a kinder, gentler era of heavy rock, a time before there was moshing. In those days, if you wanted to end up prone on a crowded coliseum floor and get stomped on, you just drank and smoked until you passed out where you stood. With this record Corrosion of Conformity, one of the most influential and caustic punk bands of the mid-'80s, make a dramatic shift toward groovy, Southern-fried metal ? la Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and ZZ Top, and they do it quite convincingly.
