Music Reviews of Chasing the GhostMusic Review: -pale-goth-boy's- review for Collide's *chasing the ghost* Rating: 5 Stars
Collide's music has always been hard to categorize in any specific genres, because there music ranges into so mini at once. And they shore have achieved that with *chasing the ghost*, from the song *wings-of steel* with its seductive gothic sounds, to *monochrome* with its hart pounding industrial beats to keep you dancing all night. I would have to say that this is one of my favorite CDs of the year, and i would definitely recommend it.
Music Review: good stuff Rating: 5 Stars
Every Collide album has a unique sound to it. And in every way, I am compelled by every song. kaRIN is the best vocalist I've every heard. And Statik composes every song in such a way that this album (or any of them), can be listened to hundred thousand times, and I would still find the sonic landscape so interesting that I would listen to it another hundred thousand.
i will be listening to Collide until the day i die!
Music Review: I'd give this album 10 stars if I could. Rating: 5 Stars
Do not listen to the one bad review by April. kaRIN does not by any means whatsoever sound like Brittney Spears. She has a soft, almost sultry, soothing voice. And as far as the music goes, Statik does any excellent job mixing industrial-sounding noises to make lovely background music that goes perfectly with kaRIN's down-tempo-like voice. There isn't a song on this album that I dont like. But it. It's worth it.
Music Review: Disregard this CD Rating: 1 Stars
This disk sucks. What a waste of money. Dont buy it. Trust me. The mood is superficial and the singer never pauses singing on the entire disk. She never allows the songs to breathe. I bought this disk on the recommendaetions on this site. Bad mistake. I thought that it would be meloncholy and beautiful. It is hardly meloncholy, more like melodramatic. They try too hard to be "deep" and just sound amateurish.
Music Review: Review: "Chasing The Ghost" - NoisePlus Records Rating: 4 Stars
Gothic diva KaRIN's vocals ring in your head like a dark siren call. Collide will most likely appeal to fans of artists like Curve, Siouxsie & The Banshees and The Cranes. They have a dark sensibility which appeals to lovers of Ethereal and Gothic music while Statik's electronic manipulation will draw heavily on the EBM and Electronica crowd.
