Music Review: Simply Great Music!!

Incredible cd...incredible. I grew up in the 90's listening to lots of different bands, but never really Collective Soul. Like most, I would hear a song here or there since they had some radio hits and movies in soundtracks. As I grew older I started to turn away from the "pop hit radio" scene and started appreciating great music more. That's what this cd is....GREAT music. It's not trendy, it might not be popular, but it's just GREAT music! As I was listening to song after song I just couldn't believe that I had overlooked this band growing up. WOW WHAT I WAS MISSING!! I went out and bought 2 other of their albums after hearing the live cd "Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid" and "Self-Titled" as well as their new album "Youth" and now I'm hooked. The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra idea was awesome and they sound great on the cd, definately a great idea for a live performance. The band just seems so alive when they play. Their sound is pure rock and roll on some songs then pure heart on others. As I was listening I kept thinking "Are all these songs THEIR songs?!?!" because I had heard so many of them but I guess just not put their name to them. Some of my personal favorites of the live album are "Listen" = Rocker song, plus great lyrics. "Compliment" = My fiance loved this song. She thinks it's an absolute beautiful song and I agree. Great steady rocker mixed with feeling. "Heavy" = This one reminded me of the Paul McCartney song Live and Let Die the way that the guitars are mixed with the symphony. Very cool effect. "Home" = Awesome guitar lick and drums! "Gel" = Straight up get a speeding ticket music! "Shine" = Still a classic song. Would probably be a number one hit again if they re-released it on the radio. Finally the last song on the cd "Burn" isn't a live song but it's awesome too, and will probably be a hit. You'll probably hear it in weight rooms and gyms in the next couple of months.
I would recommend this cd to anyone.
