Music reviews of No World For TomorrowMusic Review: Like nothing you have ever heard before... Rating: 5 Stars
Coheed has never failed to impress me with each new release. I have always loved their progressive sound. This album, once again, does not dissappoint. After just one listen I was instantly hooked. Every track is amazing and could be a #1 hit by itself. so here's my track by track rating
The Reaping: Very 'Always & Never' Like, but no giggling children in the background. With the first note Claudio sings, you can tell his voice has greatly improved. Unfortunately, it's a little short. But none the less, a great track [9/10]
No World For Tomorrow: After The Reaping we are thrown face first into the amazing song that is No World For Tomorrow. This song starts off loud and in your face with a wicked guitar riff as Claudio belts out the first word of the song. This song will send a shiver down your spine its so good. The energy in the chorus and near the end is beyond words. amazing [10/10]
The Hound (Of Blood and Rank): Starts out quiet with a quiet pulsing synthesizer and a sweet little guitar riff played echoing into nothing but is quickly joined with loud palm muted guitars and Claudio's amazing vocals again. Some cool little ooh ooh ooh's during the chorus, and a wicked awesome solo. [9/10]
Feathers: I get the feeling this song will be one of the most underrated songs on this album. For me, its one of my favorites. Its like the love child of The Suffering, Blood Red Summer... with a little bit of nothing coheed has ever done before. I dont know how else to describe it other then it is beautiful and you will never be able to get out of your head [10/10]
The Running Free: We all know this song, but I just wanted to say I feared that when the album came out, it would lose some of its luster.. but in my opinion, it can hold its own :). [9/10]
Mother Superior: Now if you ever wanted a song where Claudio's vocals shine like nothing you could ever imagine.. Mother superior is that song. For those that heard the acoustic version, this one is a lot like it.. but on steroids...no.. speed...no crack... i dono. its hopped up on all sorts of drugs. This song is amazing beyond words. Listen to it. Now. [10/10]
Gravemakers & Gunslingers: This song is such a BAMF it will kick you in the groin and laugh about it in your face. This song is very fast paced and has some amazing guitar work. There really isnt much you can say about this song other then the guitar work will melt your face off with a fury you never imagined. the only downfall I feel to this song is the girl singers. In my opinion they just seem out of place in contrast with Claudio's voice. [8.5/10]
Justice In Murder: Another one of the more guitar driven songs on the album. It seems a little slow compared to the other songs, but has a chorus that you will be humming for days on end. Not one of my FAVORITE songs yet, but I DO find with every listen it seems to grow on my a little more. [8/10]
THE END COMPLETE
I - The Fall of House Atlantic: Instrumental. But just from listening to it you KNOW the next few songs are gonna be good
II - Radio Bye Bye: This song seems like they forgot to put it on their last album. It really reminds me of 'Mother May I' during the chorus because it is really loud and draws you in. That is one of the things I love most about it. The Verses remind me of `The Writing Writer' At about the 3 minute mark there is an accapella 'ba ba dot doo oh oh'ish type breakdown that reminds me of the end of The P.F.I's 'Who watches the watchmen' which i love. pretty much this song reminds me of a lot of other songs, but at the same time is completely original by itself. [9/10]
III - The End Complete: To sum this song up, it is almost too epic for its own good. but not quite ;) this song starts out quietly with a quick buildup to palm muted guitars for a while while some heavy drums kick in. Once again Claudio's vocals shine through this song. The verses are pretty straightforward but at the same time are crazy good... and then the chorus shows up. The Chorus of this song is different then any other coheed song I have heard. Its a new sound, but it fits the song perfectly. You can just feel the weight of the story on this song. It has a huge sound and really hits you hard. The bridge has that scream that i have been missing since IKSSE:3 . The bridge is so epic it screams at you with crazy energy. Sounds a little like 'Al The Killer'. The outro is epic and ends quietly much like 2113 did with 'Iro-bot' just Claudio and his guitar.. Beautiful [10/10]
IV - The Road and the Damned: This song is by far the most emotional song Coheed has ever come out with. It has a VERY different sound then any of their other songs, and you will have to actually hear it to understand that, but by golly is it a good song. I can't help but find myself singing it at random. its a pretty short song, but the lyrics and Claudios voice will pull at your heart and bring a tear to your eye for sure. An absolutely Beautiful song. I highly recommend it [10/10]
V - On The Brink - Before this album came out, I always wondered how Claud would finish this epic saga. Nothing I could think of seemed that it would really fit. How do you finish a masterpiece like this? I guess only a true mastermind can know that. Because like a true mastermind, he did it. I dont think I can even bring myself to describe the emotions behind this song. It is by far the best way this album could have ended. It toys with you climaxing and falling and climaxing again before EXPLODING in a crazy fury with wailing and screaming. and then suddenly it is quiet again. It seems like its all over and then out of your speakers comes a familiar tune. This song is also a lot different as they use a bunch of new instruments you would not expect to hear in an epic end song, but it fits more perfectly then i can describe. This song gives me chills every time I listen to it. And the lyrics always stirr up emotions when i hear them. And once again.. Claudio sounds like a God when he sings it. [10/10]

Description of No World For TomorrowDeluxe Edition includes a video about the making of No World for Tomorrow, a performance of "Mother Superior," plus audio/video-animated projections from Good Apollo tour. Also includes a deluxe booklet with over 50 photos. Coheed and Cambria's first three outings were smart, adventurous affairs that didn't eschew accessibility and No World for Tomorrow proves no exception. From the title cut to the epic "The End Complete," No World carries an intensity informed by occasional touches of the light, such as "Feathers," which not only recalls the Van Halen classic "Dance the Night Away" in its opening measures but also gives a knowing wink to silliest and most histrionic elements of emo. ("The Hound of Blood and Rank" and "The Running Free" are two of the finest pieces C&H has thus far committed to disc.) Throughout, there are odd time signatures and multilayered sounds that will keep listeners coming back to dissect the album. As good as the pop-inflected elements on this record are, it's the closing "On the Brink" (featuring requisite nods to Pink Floyd) that steals the show and demonstrates that Coheed and Cambria's greatest attribute is that it stimulates the mind as much as the foot--a promising sign in a time when too many think too much about too little. --Jedd Beaudoin
