Music Review: just great

This is a highly enjoyable album. The vocals are sometimes mysterious, other times incredibly emotional, but completely great the entire time. That's the one thing (not to mention, the most important thing) that makes the Psychomodo such an entertaining listen. Songwriting that honestly doesn't get any better than this.
"Tumbling Down" is pure emotion to me, as far as the vocal melody is concerned, and the choice of pleasant instruments you can hear in the background. "Ritz" continues that mysterious theme I mention above, but leads into another very good instrumental part that I wish would have lasted longer.
I actually think about Mott the Hoople when I hear this band (thanks to the lead singer) which is a good thing- they were underrated in the same way these guys were.
BUT, I don't think this album can be compared with Roxy Music or other glam rock bands because the Psychomodo doesn't really sound like any other band I've heard. Oh sure, the lead singer sounds like the guy from Mott the Hoople, but that's where the similarities end. Great album.
