Music Review: And The Beat Goes On...And On & On.....

Her actual sophomore album will be released later this year. You may have heard the hot new R&B/Latin influenced track, "Infatuation" performed at the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony earlier this year. If not, perhaps you heard short snippits of the hot ballad co-written by Linda Perry herself; "Beautiful." Or maybe "Can't Stop Us Now." All 3 of which, were written mostly by Christina herself- not to mention thoroughly arranged by the prodigy, and were tastefully displayed on MTV's GRAMMY pre-show spectacular. This album promises to be her usual 10 of 5 possible stars.

My Thorough Review Of The "Just Be Free" Album:
When you begin listening to the album, it sounds like it's the best album of 2001!..Atleast the first 4 tracks show it. From the hot, perfect-for-clubbing title track; Just Be Free, to the silky smooth Our Day Will Come, which provides a vocal talent not even Mariah Carey herself can top. The next 2 tracks, however, are simply high above average. Not high above perfect; something Christina's fans are used to. They're still really, really good. Devastatingly, the next 4 tracks are just barely better than OK. Really good fillers, at their best. Fortunately, the last 3 tracks save the day. Hardcore fans will be widely dissapointed in these tracks though, because not only does the music sound generic; but the tracks only feature a line or so by Christina, being repeated throughout the whole song. Some tracks even have BACKUP vocalists dominating the lead vocals on the whole ... song!!!!! But yeah, it's still really good. Just her worst album ever. But still the best album of 2001. Although it was recorded around 1994, and is just a crummy money-making sceme from the lousy producers.
