Music reviews of The Day Has ComeMusic Review: Track by Track review Rating: 5 Stars
1.Intro - An intro with no words, but it's cool because you never really see any intros in any pop/rock albums nowadays. This track leads right into...
2.I Want To - 3:36 - 9/10: This track is more of a rock track talking about having fun and do what you want. An overall fun song."...I want to, want to/everybody wants to/have a little fun in life..."
3. Hanging On - 4:09 - 10/10: This is the first single from the album. But it's different from the version you've heard on the radio. Here are the differences: 1. After the first chorus, the music is extended. 2. When the final chorus kicks in and she sings "I'm hanging on..." and the music fades in quickly, like a rush, it's a different sound. 3. The chorus is sung twice in the end, in the radio edit it's sung once. 4. The line in the end "I've had a bad day" is delayed a bit after she finishes the final chorus. "I'm hanging on/Today/and nothing's gonna stop me anyway..."
4. One Original Thing - 3:32 - 10/10: This song was put on the "Aquamarine" soundtrack, so some people already know it. But I didn't and was really attatched to it. This is my second favorite song on the album. Well produced. "...Baby I need an original thing/Something unusual to give me some wings..."
5. The Day Has Come - 3:21 - 10/10: The title track and rumored second single is a great anthem about following your dreams. "I know the day has come/I have just begun/ No you're never ever ever gonna see me try..."
6. Four Walls - 3:28 - 10/10: The first ballad on the album. It's a very sad song talking about breaking up with someone, but then regretting it. "...Now I wait/For a break in the silence/Cause that's all that you left/Just me and these four walls again..."
7. Hello Goodbye - 2:40 - 20/10: My Favorite song. It's the shortest song and the fastest. The song talks about not loving somebody who loves you back, but the person follows you home and you can't shake them off. "Hello/Hello/Hello/ I'm saying/ Goodbye/Goodbye/Goodbye/You're staying/I know/I know/I know/ You've been waiting/ Hello goodbye/ Nothing's changing..."
8. Good Go Bad - 3:38 - 10/10: This song talks about staying together in a relationship that's going nowhere and fianlly deciding to break up. "I'm sick and tired of watching the good go bad/Watching the good go bad/And i'm not coming back.
9. Everything To Lose - 3:41 - 9/10: A mid-tempo song that slows down the pace a little bit after the past two tracks. The only problem I have with this song is her repetition of the word "Everything".
10. Breaking Your Heart - 4:00 - 10/10: The pace picks back up with this upbeat toe tapper. She talks about a guy who likes her and she likes him back, but she wants to follow her dreams so instead of getting together with him and then wind up breaking his heart, she'll just leave it be. "...No I ain't got the time/Ain't got the time/Time to be breaking your heart..."
11. Mr. Beautiful - 2:58 - 9/10: The chorus is great, but I find the verses a bit boring. This is the only song where the lyrics are not in the booklet. "Goodbye Mr. Beautiful/ You're someone I never knew."
12. Didn't I - 3:46 - 10/10: For some reason the first verse bores me, but the second verse dosn't. It starts to kick in when she sings "Ooh, oh/ Give me just a little bit of it" and the chorus is great too. "Didn't I/Give a little more then you could take..."
13. Full Circle - 2:53 - 10/10: Great song. It starts off acoustic, talking about finding a new love, then she sings about being in a relationship, then she sings about after breaking up. Then at about 1:28 the drums kick in and it becomes a more anger driven song asking questions, then it goes back to acoustic and she sings that the anger driven part of the song was her way of letting it out.
I got my album from Target and it has 2 bonus tracks
14. Too Good For You - 3:27 - 9/10: It reminds me of "I Want To". They both have that rock song vibe. She sings about breaking up and that the reason is not that he was too bad for her, but she was too good for him. "...I'm not trying to hurt you now baby/It's not that you're so bad for me/ I'm just too good for you"
15. Wonderful (Feat. Josh Hoge) (Acoustic Version) - 3:15 - 10/10: I saw her record this song on an episode of Cheyenne and wondered why it wasn't on the album. Then when I saw it as one of the bonus tracks, I couldn't wait to hear the full version. I wasn't dissapointed. This is a great upbeat track. "And if you love me/Console me/ All of the time/And can I love you/I want to/I wanna try/Because when/You're gone I feel/Alone and when I/Have you I know it will be wonderful".

Description of The Day Has ComeDepending on your age, the name Cheyenne Kimball could be familiar to you for one of a number of reasons. She took her first step on the ladder of fame when she won the 'America's Most Talented Kid' competition in 2003--singing her own song--at the age of 12. The Texas teenager then signed on with MTV to document her rise to fame on reality TV; instead of highlighting her flaws, the show served to affirm her sincerity and talent. Three years after inking a recording deal, The Day Has Come is Kimball's musical result; true to her abilities, she has co-written every song and played guitar on nearly every track. Still, there are many heavy hitters contributing to this disc, from The Matrix to Chantal Kreviazuk (who co-wrote much of Avril Lavigne?s last CD) to former members of Blind Melon. The question remains: is she a compelling young celebrity who can somewhat carry a tune, or a good musician who happens to have benefited from prime TV time? Judging by this disc, Kimball can definitely write, play, and sing. While still having a young voice, her control, depth, and ability to create hooks are well-showcased in the lyrically-disenchanted "Good Go Bad" and the country-infused "Everything To Lose." "Hanging On" is a catchy first single, delivered with confidence and perfect pitch. The end result? With solid tracks and powerful--but still developing--chops, Kimball is a young pop-ster with much potential, a possible future Sheryl Crow in the making. --Denise Sheppard
