Music Review: Stirring...

Cher's ''Believe'' along with Madonna's ''Ray Of Light'' were both probably the best released albums in the year 1998. I have never again managed to enjoy an album the way I enjoyed those two and I'm glad that both albums won very deserving Grammy's. This one having winning the ''Best Dance Album'' of the year.

I will never forget when I rushed out to the Music store after hearing it on the radio, I had to wait 1 week before I was able to buy the CD, because nearly every music store I went to in Center town told me that they had sold out of ''Believe''. And Talking About Videos? ''Believe'' in my opinion was one of the coolest Videos back in the 90's.

1. Believe. Produced at ''Dream House Studios'', received first quality in digital technology. The way the song starts off is very reflecting then it taps into delicious and sharp disco beats which build up to her vocals. Very Hot dance track.

2. The Power. This track features Cher in her semi mystical and pop state. This is a good track, but the remaining tracks on this album clearly outshine this one.

3. Runaway. This is really a potent & powerful track, I was so disappointed when I heard it wasn't going to be released as single, It was released as a promo but didn't manage to get enough attention. If you want to hear something rather sad and mind-blowing then you'd like this track.

4. All Or Nothing. This track, which was produced by the ''Metro'' crew with the influence of Todd Terry (If I'm correct). This was the third single off this album, it was released while Cher was doing the ''Believe'' Tour in Las Vegas. Two Videos were released for this track, One of them was for the ''Metro Radio Remix'' which included missing scenes from ''Strong Enough'' and ''Believe'' combined into one video (the Remix video was only released in 3 continents) and the other video which was a worldwide release which contained assorted shoots from the Las Vegas tour.

5. Strong Enough. I remember witnessing the ''Thunderpuss Mix'' being played in discothèques, and on the radio several times. It was also great for the opening to the ''Believe'' tour in Las Vegas which was accompanied by a really Hot Remix Flash/Dance video. When this song starts off, you get the impression that it's a slow and easy-going song when BAM! ''Cos I'm Strong Enough'' and the more relaxed disco beats kick in, and her vocals become very challenging and warm.

6. Dov'e l'amore. A Cool Latin influenced ballad, but I also do remember that Emilio Estefan Jr.'s Mix received allot more attention than the original that it was used for the video- and the video was kinda cute, Cher decides to make herself look Spanish and she did a real good job with it.

7. Takin' Back My Heart. This is a somewhat very mellow and relaxing track, It's cool.

8. Taxi Taxi. WOW!, This track and ''Believe'' are probably the two best on this album which easily get you grooving and off your feet. Her vocals are very demanding, the song is rather a little sexual same as ''All Or Nothing'' with pounding house beats thrown in. This is a very stirring track. Everyone I know, who've got this album, couldn't stop raving about how awesome ''Taxi Taxi'' was.

9. Love Is The Groove. This is a dance ballad, with very cool lyrics and her vocals sound undeniably dreamy in this track.

10. We All Sleep Alone. Well, no need to make a big fuss of this one, seeing its a previously released track of Cher's but revamped for the dance floors, and its quite a quality and thump mix, which definitely sounds like a Todd Terry or Deep Dish Remix.

So....here Cher is, Stirring the atmosphere in the center of the dance floor.
