Music Review: Flashbacks are sometimes Flash Forwards

I returned to this album because I wanted to see how it faired after several years and I can positively say that I liked it still. I was transferring things to a new format as i did so, and older songs called to me and made me want to listen to them. Just like Burn Out, this album has a few things in it that still hold up to this day. There are sampling techniques that are still beautiful when one hears them, vocals that still speak to me when I listen to the tracks, beats thats till move the mind and put a little pace in my positioning, and other things that make me think less about the age of the album and more about how good this buy turned out to be.
for people that do not know Chemlab, they were one of the WaxTrax acts that had a decent-sized following back in their day, and that went beyond what is now known as industrial music. They even have newer albums that prove that they can keep up with the frantic pace that music seems to abide by, and I find that to be amazing considering hw hard this is to do. East side Militia is also a bit different than their other albums, providing a harder edge than their first release, something different than Suture would show, and a different sound than the album that recently dropped. It is still viable and it is still buyable, and that makes me happy because i normally can't compare older works to newer ones and find they all work.
If you are not familiar with WaxTrax work, then you might want to check out some of the samples provided. WaxTrax birthed a lot of bands we all know, however, going from KMFDM to NIN and other beauties like sister Machine Gun and the Kidney Thieves. I still keep a lot of their albums in rotation because they founded what was considered an underground sound in the 90s, and because they got me through many a dull teenage moment that was dominated by acts I found hard to listen to. they also provided a platform for labels like Metropolis Records to step into, and for sounds like EBM to grow out of. Take a listen, see if you like it, and see what you think of their newer stuff. Check out Jared Louche and the Aliens, too, because Chemlab is Louche and that album is good stuff.
