Mephistopheles is richly and powerfully sung by Cesare Siepi and Dorothy Kirsten is a warmly wonderful Marguerite. As well, Frank Guarrera is a fine Valentin. As well, this edition includes the Walpurgis Night scene. Naxos's remastering by provides excellent sound and the set also includes a group of 11 live performances of songs and arias sung by Bjoerling!!
