Music Review: Musical Bliss!

After listening to this CD many, many, many times over the past year, I felt I was obligated to share my thoughts. I dare say that this is the best CD released in 2007. Cary is an amazing songwriter, both lyrically and musically. With this, his first full length album, he shows his natural ability to not only lift you up until you're riding on clouds, but also tear your heart out. The Songs on this CD are great for both sitting by yourself and pondering love, life, and the like, as well as background music at your Friday night party. I would call this Indie-Folk, in the vein of Josh Radin and Damien Rice, but with a little more Pop-Rock mixed in. Some of the standouts on here are: The Glass Parade, A song that anyone may be able to learn on the guitar, but no one will ever sing it or play it as beautifully as this original... Think Awhile, will make you do just that, without even listening to the lyrics, the music alone is thought provoking... Honestly, is a broken heart masterpiece... and the amazing remake of If You Were Here, is one of the best re-workings of a song I have ever heard. The vocals and arrangement on this make it a completely different song than the original, and the guitar rings with subtle brilliance! All in all, there is not a bad song on this CD, in fact, if you like Indie, Folk, Acoutsic Rock, Great Vocals, Great lyrics, or pretty much any kind of music really, there isn't a song on here I would tell you is anything less than great! Give it a listen on Amazon if you want, but the song snippets will not do it justice. You need to get a copy of this CD somehow and listen to it all the way through. Trust me, you'll be thanking me when you do.
