Music Review: not what i had hoped for

Like the gal in Misery, I truly am Carly's biggest fan. I was very disappointed in this album though. I have to listen to it more to see if I can find anything redeemable in it but right now, can't do it. I about broke my neck trying to turn off some rap song she did. The good news is that it was a gift. The bad news is that I miss the 70's Carly! My recommendation, just buy one of the key songs and enjoy it for 99 cents. leave the rest. This is a pleasant album, but certainly not her greatest. I particularly like the last song,"Too Soon to Say Goodbye" (which is dedicated to the late Buckminster Fuller), the title song (which has a great saxophone part that sounds like Kenny G), "Hold Out Your Heart," and perhaps 1 or 2 others which sound particularly Brazilian/samba-ish. Her voice sounds as lovely and sexy as ever, but perhaps the songwriting is not as inspired as many of her older, more famous songs.Music Review: What a Treasure!

Hi everyone, Don't miss this excellent new album by Carly! The songs are beautifully written, sung and produced. Each note is unmistakable Carly Simon, complete with the unexpected chord change at the conclusion of a verse and that soaring voice that still has power, clarity and emotion unlike any other singer. Well worth the wait for new, original material. Entered the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts at #15. Will have a long chart life I'm sure. Check it out!Music Review: Carly's the best!

I grew up with the beautiful voice of Carly Simon. Her songs, when I hear them again, take me back to different times of my life. Over the years she had done nothing but get better.
I think it's wonderful that she made this CD her own effort by doing most of the writing herself and incorporating the talents of her children. The result of her brilliance is one of her best albums in terms of music and lyrics ever!
Music Review: Dreadful Nightmare

Let's start by saying that I am a Carly Simon fan and have collected all of her recordings. Carly has had ups and downs in her, mostly respectable, recording career. But then she released "This Kind Of Love". What a dreadful collection of music...the words nightmare, awful and unpleasant come to mind. Save your money, do not buy this stinker! Let's pretend it never happened!
