Music Review: A stunning recording of taste and virtuosity

The Canadian Brass is an ensemble that has been around for about 40 years, and have made numerous recordings, all in my opinion have been generally quite good, although some have been better than others. This recording from 2008 features the newest members of the quintet, along with Eugene Watts and Charles Daellenbach.
This album is probably the best they've ever produced (with the exception of the "Brass in Berlin" album they did with the Berlin Philharmonic Brass).
The arrangements are very creative, the playing fantastic, and the sound is quite lovely. I was especially impressed with the arrangements of the Overtures to the Orchestral Suites, as well as the arrangement of the Bach-Vivaldi d concerto.
They also record here their arrangements of some of the Anna-Magdelina Bach selections, which while unusual are also very well played.
You will not be disappointed with this album.
