Music Review: Theres a band playing on the radio......

Hey what's happening.... I'm 20 years old and the youngest Radio Jockey to date in India working for All India Radio's 107.1 fm.And after writing,producing and hosting over 375 shows on the radio....I still remember the first few records i ever played that fatefull day...some 4 years ago to date.With or Without You by U2,Every Breath You Take-the Police,Always On My Mind-Elvis Presley(the King forever!)Groovy Kind Of Love-Phil Collins,Everything I Own-Bread, and then came Slave To Love.And i still play all that every Friday night....till i probably drop dead.Ferry Rules.And you want to know a funny thing?When you enter Madame Tussard's Rock Circus in London....the first thing you see is this man's wax elegy.After almost 30 years of making music....this new compilation is just another silly set to cash in on his true worth.And It would'nt be fair to give him all credit as most of the songs were done in his days with Roxy Music-his other namesake.What really upsets me..is that two of the most greatest love songs he ever wrote...79's Dance Away and the Roxy Music extravante'-'Over You' are not included on this new compilation.Damn. Try if possible to get only one Bryan Ferry album...(if you can find it that is.....my lp's are worth a small fortune now!) And thats the double record set or on 1 cd.....'Street Life'-20 Greatest Hits with Roxy Music.Most of the songs from this new compilation are on it...but more importantly...it's got the essential Brian Eno days to Ferry's 'Boys and Girls' Period.Everything from 'Slave To Love'(which not many people know,has Mark Knofpler from Dire Straits doing that little guitar riff over & over & over again...)to his cover of John Lennon's Jealous Guy....(one of his best ever)and even the song that could go down as the finest yet least heard of Ferry's-his cover of the Platter's 61 hit 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' So don't waste your hard earned money on this one....and get the Street Life lp.And then pass it on to your kid.Just like i'm going to one day.The power of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. The badboy has spoken.
