Music Review: When she is good.....

.....she is very very good. What Britney does, she does well. I gave this 4 stars for 3 reasons:
"My Baby" is way to high, would've been much better in a lower key.
"Radar" does not need to be repeated on this CD.
Britney's voice is too overprocessed. It's just not necessary. She's not a great singer, but she can do much better than the vocal affectations and digitizing. Case in point: "Shadow" from the In the Zone CD.
I still don't think we have seen Britney's full potential.
Music Review: A LITTLE TOO LONG

This is a better than usual Britney album. Most of the dance songs are hot, but If You Seek Amy is annoying, not just because of the sophmoric word play, but the vocals are just terrible. Also, the lyrics don't make sense in the context of the song. My Baby is treacle at it's worst. But, the high points are many, and outweigh these misteps. Out From Under is a good ballad, and Circus is tight. I found a song called "Amnesia" that is on the European version of this and it is HOT! Worth seeking out.Music Review: Best CD in the year 2008!

Britney Spears is the only artist who has never disappointed me with her music. And on "Circus" she didn't disappoint me either! After the bombastic album "Blackout" comes here the next amazing album "Circus"! I love every song on this CD and I am glad that this time there are a few ballads, too! I would recommend the "Deluxe Edition" of the CD because "Rock Me In" and "Phonography" are way better than normal Bonustracks. "Phonography" is even one of my favorites. Very good CD overall. Filled with mostly upbeat songs that are great to dance to, but it also has 2 slow songs that are amazing as well. My two favorite songs off of the cd would have to be Out From Under and Rock Me In. I love the double sided poster and the DVD makes it seem more personal and also gives you a inside look on the making of the cd. Overall I am very impressed with this CD and I must say its one of her best yet! I would recommend this to everyone! :)Music Review: One of Her Best!

I'm not the biggest Britney fan but I will concede that her pop hits have moved my hips on more than one occasion.
This album has many of her typical ingredients (loud choruses with loads of back-up "assistance", catchy beats, etc.), but it's a departure from her former albums in that the lyrics aren't completely ridiculous. In fact, I would even go so far as to say several of the songs are actually quite touching.
Definitely worth a buy!
