Music Review: "This Is Country Music Indeed!"

This is a fantastic CD release by the 3 times Grammy Award winning country singer-songwriter Brad Paisley, the CD aptly titled 'This Is Country Music'. This CD (15 tracks) is an unusual album release (in a good way) in that stand-outs/gems/solid tracks (10 tracks out of 15) predominate & there are no weak tracks. These stand-outs/gems/solid tracks include "Old Alabama" (wonderful guitars, melody & harmonies. This song features the band Alabama), "A Man Don't Have To Die", "Remind Me" (mid-tempo track, wonderful high pitched vocals by country music star Carrie Underwood), "Love Her Like She's Leavin'" (an incredible ballad, great guitars, melody & harmonies featuring the legendary rock band The Eagles' vocalist Don Henly), "One Of Those Lives" (wonderful base track, vocals & melody), "Toothbrush" (simple but very effective lyrics), "Be The Lake" (great banjo & guitars), "New Favorite Memory" (a wonderful ballad. This is my favourite pick from this CD), "I Do Now" & "Don't Drink The Water" (featuring the wonderful vocals by Blake Shelton). Great tracks include "This Is Country Music" (opening & title track that gives the overall sound of this CD : great compositions, wonderful guitar work/sound, great vocals & very melodical), "camouflage" (a rather 'naughty/playful' up-tempo track, very well done), "Working On A Tan" ('pop-ish' up-tempo track with great melody), "Eastwood" ('unusual rocky' guitar infused track featuring the legendary movie star/producer Clint Eastwood) & "Life's A Railway To Heaven" (great banjo sound featuring Marly Stuart, Sheryl Crow & Carl Jackson). There are no weak tracks or fillers in this fantastic CD, this is how country music/cd should be (15 wonderful tracks), a highly recommended CD listening! A well deserved 5 star performance!
