Music Review: Karlof fand Kipling live on in Just So Stories

I grew up with this recording on an LP. Yep, good ole vinyl. Wore it out. So imagine my delight in finding a fresh copy in a modern medium!

Kipling is most known today for Mowgli and the Jungle Book. Animation can make you famous. But Kipling's pen was prolific. These stories may be less known today but they are still great. Take, for example, How The Elephant Got His Trunk. There is humor and irony on many levels. In other words, everyone in the car can enjoy the story.

The other reason they can all enjoy it is Karloff's superb narration. I still find his voice to be a benchmark for how a story should be read. The glow of his voice has survived from that scratchy old LP, still the master of words.

This is a treasure.
