Music Review: SHAKE IT UP

Track 1 R.S.V.P. Gets you right away with it's easy beat, Makes you want to move to it. From there to track 2, GRAZIN' IN THE GRASS, a big one for Hugh Masekela in the late 60's (do you remember that great pairing of Herb Alpert (trumpet) and Hugh Masekela (flugelhorn), also way back when. Track 10 is a continuation of GRAZIN' this time with vocals (sort of), I'm usually not big on vocals within an instrumental album but this one fits. It belongs.
Track 3 MORE THAN YOU KNOW slows down just enough to let you breathe a little easier while once again these two prove they were made for each other (so to speak).

Track 4 SHAKE IT UP If I had to pick this would be my favorite.
Both trumpet and sax shine on this one and while I have always been a Rick Braun fan this is the track that made me a Boney James fan forever.

Track 5 CENTRAL AVENUE Listen to it and you're there!

And so it goes. Track 8 CHAIN REACTION knocks me out. The conversation between the trumpet and sax on this one is unbelievable--one asks, the other answers and all the while the beat goes on.

I could go on and on but I don't want to risk a lynch mob. Four words of wisdom-----BUY IT AND ENJOY.
