Blu's Open has a great old school vibe. Some of the tracks sound like they could have easily been release back in '92-'93. "Part Time Suckas" has a killer beat with a jazzy keyboard riff. "Good Gracious" has a thumping beat while "Point Blank" has stinging guitar sample that pierces through a horn blast. "Gotta Be Free" has a frenetic pace with rhymes be spit at breakneck speed over a horn accented beat. Blu is joined by guests on most tracks and they make for an overall strong album.
