Music Review: ...no wait, 6 out of 5 stars.

see, a bunch of people are stuck on blink182's new stuff (Feeling This/I Miss You/Down), songs like that. however, compared to their upbeat and at times humorous older material, their new songs seem more mellow and boring. don't get me wrong, i still think blink kick ass, but they need to stick with the Cheshire Cat/Dude Ranch/Enema of the State/TOYPAJ theme. anyway, on with the review:

Cheshire Cat is without a doubt my favorite blink182 album, with Take off Your Pants and Jacket not far behind. There is one downside to Cheshire Cat, and that's the production. it 's not very well made (technologically) the music is made VERY well. so well that the lack of sound quality doesn't even suggest a 4/5 star rating. here's the track listings broken down w/ ratings and what-not:

01. Carousel
i hate to say it, but the first track of the album is almost a disappointment. for the simple reason that it's not the original version of Carousel (featured on the album "Buddha"). there are some very minor changes, but i prefer the old version. however, the original version of Carousel is probably my all time favorite blink song ever!

02. M+M's
one of their earliest singles, and one of their best. it's basically another song about a girl and how he'd do anything for her.

03. Fentoozler
this is basically: you've gotten over the greatness of Carousel and M+M's, so we'll pinn this mediocre track. don't be fooled tho, still a great song.

04. Touchdown Boy
i think it's about being jealous of this popular jock at school or something because he gets all the chicks. really good chorus.

05. Strings
a weak point for the album, the chorus is quite lame actually. still, good to listen to when you're listening to the album all the way thru.

06. Peggy Sue
just in the past few days i've been listening to this song A LOT! and i must say, it's one of my favorites. i really like the chorus. it's basically talking about how parents try to tell you stuff and what you should be and stuff. good track.

07. Sometimes
the shortest song on the album (approx. 1:10), but it's awesome. it's pretty fast, and mark's vocals complete it. even tho it's short, it's a favorite.

excellent vocal introduction by Tom!! however, i never really got into the rest of the song. i dunno...

09. Cacophony
this time an excellent BASS intro, and then that simple guitar line comes in and screams GREATNESS. the verses are awesome, but the chorus is kinda "eh"

10. TV
an OK track, about TV. that's the kinda weird thing. i mean, blink have sung about a lot of stuff (listen to "Happy Holidays, You Bastard"), but this is kinda... nice music tho!!

11. Toast and Bananas
the first six words of this song are awesome. the rest is pretty good too. however, it's around this point in the album where you start to hear repetitiveness, which isn't good... but the last 5 tracks make up for it...

12. Wasting Time
probably my favorite on this album (tied with "Ben Wah Balls")! i like what the lyrics are about (really liking this girl, but not having the guts to ask her out, and you keep wondering if she thinks about you and stuff, or are you just wasting your time?). awesome chorus!

13. Romeo and Rebecca
an excellent track about how girls are a waste of time. excellent mellow first verse, then the rest is sped up. nice chorus!

14. Ben Wah Balls
to be truthful, i have no earthly idea what Ben Wah Balls are... but that's ok, cuz i have a theory... anywhom, this song is excellent. it's about this girl, whos dad left her and her mom when she was young. so then the girl starts going out with this guy, and figures out it's her dad, "Cause you used Ben Wah Balls"... [shrug]... excellent song tho.

15. Just About Done
this song is the most stupid and halarious song i've ever heard.

16. Depends
no wait, THIS is the most stupid and halarious song i've ever heard, but it's 30 times better than Just About Done. this is actually a song, and it's about not being able to control your bladder. AWESOME!!
