BIRELI LAGRENE and SYLVAIN LUC reunite their immensely popular duo on this fantastic new Dreyfus Jazz recording, SUMMERTIME. Two of Europe's best loved guitarists make amazing things happen, armed with just two acoustic guitars, and a handful of jazz and pop favorites.

First appearing in 2000 on DUET (Dreyfus Jazz), Lagrene and Luc blew away jazz aficionados and newcomers alike with an unmistakably appealing sound: Melodic, smooth, rhythmic, breezy, fun, and even sexy.

DUET focused on very famous pop tunes, including popular versions of "Isn't She Lovely," and "Blackbird"; and more off-beat jazz choices, such as Wes Montgomery's "Road Song" and Michel Petrucciani's "Looking Up".

SUMMERTIME offers up gorgeous acoustic versions of some immensely popular Jazz tunes: "Summertime"; two Miles Davis favorites "So What" and "Some Day My Prince Will Come"; Chick Corea's intricate beauty "Spain"; "On Green Dolphin Street" and Jobim's "Wave."

SUMMETIME contains some great pop too: the album closes with a beautiful tribute to one of Luc's guitar heroes, James Taylor, with his post-9/11 love song "On The Fourth of July." Also included is a lighthearted rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You."
