Music Reviews of Rant in E MinorMusic Review: Be Offended ... Be Very Offended Rating: 5 Stars
"Warning: this album contains EVERYTHING your parents hate, EVERYTHING the Church preaches against, EVERYTHING the Government fears. Enjoy, Bill Hicks." A dark, sprawling masterpiece, some of which was performed when Bill was aware of his terminal illness, therefore his Devil may care attitude is tuned to the nth degree... Once you've heard this, nothing is the same: it's a third eye-opener. Pro-lifers, COPS, patriotism, psilocybic mushrooms, ..., corporate puppet artists, evolution, ..., Waco, and children; Hicks ponders, defends, disects, and condemns them all. The icon of the decade.
Music Review: The Genius of Bill Hicks Rating: 5 Stars
A friend of mine let me borrow his Bill Hick's CD, Rant in E-minor after I let him borrow Dangerous. I listened to it in the car and almost hit someone because I was laughing so hard! Bill Hicks was a comic genius, and the world just seems a little less funny without him. If you are easily offended by jokes about abortion and religion, then you should buy this album. Maybe you will see how absurd it all is. If you are an intelligent, open-minded, well-rounded individualist, buy this album right away and join the rest of us in knowing what a brilliant man Bill Hicks was.
Music Review: honesty is the best policy Rating: 5 Stars
Bill hicks was a genius and could debate anyone untill he was blue in the face. "Please, don't debate me, its my one true talent. I have 23 hours a day to develop these little webs of conspiracy."- Hicks. Bill was not just a comedian. He used his ability to make people laugh while pounding in some brutal honesty along the way. He did'nt tell you what you wanted to hear, he told you what he felt you needed to hear. If you want to expand your mind then this is the album for you. Keep Bill's message alive. Buy his albums and share them with friends. Thank you. Enjoy.
Music Review: stand up, yes...comedy, uh... Rating: 5 Stars
Bill Hicks wasn't a stand up comedian because he never told any jokes. None of his material had punchlines, or even moments where you suddenly realise he's been spinning a yarn or making a convoluted observation just so he can get to the point where he'll give it an unexpected twist to jerk a reaction out of the audience. All he does is just stands there and tells the truth. And the truth is so wrong, and disgusting, that you just feel inwardly grateful that someone, somewhere realised it as well, and managed to make it funnier than it probably deserved to be.
Music Review: Bill Hicks...smarter than the averege comic Rating: 5 Stars
Rant in E-minor is Bill Hicks at his best. Not holding anything back. At all. Right from the start,no one is safe. From Billy Ray Cyrus to George Bush, Hicks' addresses many issuses that the averege comdeian usually stays away from, such as Abortion to Gays in the millitary. This, out of all four major releases, is by far the best. Though Rant in E-minor is better off to save as the last of Hicks' CD's to buy, because it's so out there, and really truly greatly funny. Bill Hicks ranting under the stars for all of us the apathic masses. RIP Bill, you are missed.
