Music Review: A Discovery

I was not familiar with the music of the 2 composers until very recently. I heard Dario Castello's music on WQXR classical radio and liked it so much that I decided to buy 2 CDs, this one and a second.
This recording (which comes in 2 CDs), gives a good idea of the music of the 2 composers (with one CD for each), both instrumental and vocal. The quality of the recording & the performance is very good. Beside being a good buy, in price/quality, the recording is an excellent introduction to 2 important, and little known, composers who were associated with Claudio Monteverdi, one of the most important Italian composers of the the XVI/XVIIth Centuries. For me, it was a very happy discovery. I strongly recommend it for those who like baroque music.
