Music Review: The Lace

The Lace was co- wrote with Diane Grey Page Orr's then fiance' she was the one who co-wrote the material with Benjamin as lyrics were his weaker point. The lyrics to the album itself were very personal between both Ben and Diane. The video "TOO HOT TO STOP" was shot at Bostons Cyclorama building. "STAY THE NIGHT" was filmed in Canada, Ben had no ties with the girl in the video she was a hired model for the shoot. There was a solo lp that was in the works for Benjamin with his group ORR that was well beyond the years of The Cars. Rhino records presently holds it and as of a few years ago told me then or in the future had no plans on releasing the material which is a shame. The material is beautiful and he grew even more. In reference to writing material with Ocasek and THE CARS, all of them had submitted lyrical content where Ocasek took MOST of the credit.
Description of Lace
In honor of The Cars reunion tour, we proudly bring back two long out of print solo albums by original Cars members. The Lace by Benjamin Orr was originally issued in 1986 on Elektra Records. It features a guest appearance by fellow Cars member Elliot Easton. Speaking of Elliot Easton, we are also releasing his long out of print 1985 solo CD Change No Change. This CD features five bonus tracks not on the original vinyl release. It features a guest appearance by Jules Shear. Both of these albums cracked the top 100 on the Billboard charts when originally released.General CDs
